About My Clients
Many of my clients learned to be independent, responsible, and hardworking at young ages, traits that have helped them be successful at school and work, but have made it difficult to ask for help, set boundaries, rest, and lean into joy. Along with anxiety, these clients frequently struggle with guilt, low self-esteem, and a need to be perfect. They can be very hard on themselves and often have insecure attachment styles in relationships.
My Background and Approach
My approach is depth oriented and integrative, drawing from attachment-based, psychodynamic, gestalt and Jungian psychology. I help people identify and sit with emotions, discover anxiety and attachment wound triggers, learn to self-soothe, uncover unconscious motivations and reactions to become more self-aware and authentic, set boundaries, and process past trauma. I sometimes incorporate creative techniques such as inner child meditations, journaling, online sand tray, dream analysis, music, or art in sessions if the client is open to it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all which is an ongoing process. I believe that it is important to be aware of social justice issues in society and how they affect mental health on an individual level. I am always open to learning and adapting my behavior based on new knowledge so that I can provide compassionate and informed care to everyone I serve.
