It’s an incredibly brave thing to reach out for help when you need it, and I’m proud of you for taking that step. As a person who uses her own lived experience with mental health and the search for identity, I can say with certainty that the best way through them is together. It is my passion to walk through those challenges hand in hand with teens and young adults who are open to the journey, no matter where they’re starting from. Reaching out for help is simply the first step!
My Background and Approach
My experience includes working with adolescents and their families in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and development of LGBTQIA+ specific services in psychiatric care. I am EMDR Certified, and I incorporate DBT, CBT, solution-focused, and ACT concepts to best meet clients' needs. No two clients are alike!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is built upon the values that Black Lives Matter, trans rights are human rights, and that people have the right to choose what happens to their bodies. I believe that trans kids and adults deserve respect in their identity, including use of affirmed pronouns, name, and ability to participate in sports and use the bathroom as their identified gender. I approach mental health care from a justice-oriented perspective that recognizes privilege and strives for equity.
