My Background and Approach
Favoring feminist theory, my approach is collaborative. As a Generalist my approach is eclectic and tailored to the client. I am trained in many evidence-based practices and psychological theories. Strongly rooted in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I also integrate many of the principles of Interpersonal, Existential, Emotion-Focused, Mindfulness-based, and solution-focused approaches. I am always humbled by the process of joining someone in their journey of self-exploration. I welcome feedback and learning opportunities and look forward to working with you. Also. I noticed in the faith section of this listing they left out Secular Humanism. I would also like to include all interested Secular Humanists in my faith category.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all on the path to somewhere. Along the way, we encounter others who contribute to our journey. I believe in kindness, and flexibility and in finding your way out of the darkness. I believe in striving every day to use my priviledge to level the playing field and to learn from others. I believe you are the expert of your experience. My job is to listen, respect your story and offer what tools I have to aid you along the way. I'm into Nature and Human Nature. I find beauty in most things and look to shine a light into the darkness as we all try to arrive at our destination.
