About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who wants to help themselves. Going to therapy is a difficult move to make. It's a leap of faith and an act of trust. I hope to build a relationship with clients who are willing to trust me to listen to them, be there for them, and help them.
My Background and Approach
I try to make my therapeutic environment as comfortable as possible. In my eyes, it should be like having a close friend who you actually enjoy talking with. I think it makes it so much easier to talk about difficult topics when you feel like you know and trust the person you're talking to. I will create a personal relationship with you by meeting you on your level. I want our time together to feel easy and approachable. If other therapists have felt too formal and stuffy and made you not want to go, I want to change your perception. Therapy with me will feel more like talking to a friend than a formal meeting. As a teenager, I went to therapy and quickly recognized how crucial it was to my healing and progress in life. I want to pass on that same experience to you and help you make progress toward healing and becoming an empowered version of yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in talking organically with my clients. When building rapport with a client, I believe in natural conversation, oriented toward being an individual with unique characteristics. Whether it is in the clinical setting, or in my everyday life, I try to zoom out and look for the bigger picture in an individual's journey and experiences. I believe therapy should be a comfortable, friendly experience where each person is free to express their ideas and beliefs without judgment or pressure. I believe therapy and taking care of our mental health should be seen as just as important as going to the doctor and taking care of our physical health.
