My work seeks to assist in healing the damaging effects of cultural oppression. This means that we involve your whole self, including your culture, into the therapy process. We use a racial justice framework to acknowledge the ways that structural racism affects us.
Our minds and bodies are so connected. We can't separate the two and expect to find healing in just one another. Let's work together in an integrated way so that your whole being can feel good.
I like to use various meditative techniques, breathwork, and observation into our sessions. This can help you achieve grounding or clarity in the moment and lead to new insights during your therapy appointment.
Whether you're coming to therapy to process an identity in the 2SLGBTQ+ communities or just want a therapist who identifies as LGBTQIA+, I'm here and excited to meet you!
From children up through elders, I work with gender expansive people in understanding their identity, support during any type of transition, providing gender affirming surgery letters, or just being a therapist who is aware of multiple genders, pronouns, etc. A special interest is in supporting trans folks in the family building/ path to parenting process.
One of my passions is in supporting birthing people. Our social structures are not set up to provide enough support during such a beautiful and messy, challenging time. I'd love to be there for you, as a judgment-free place to bring all of your experiences during this life transition. Maybe you're a surrogate who gestated a pregnancy, maybe you're a gender non-conforming person who is carrying, or maybe you're a partner of someone who just gave birth and need support too.
This framework allows us to consider the ways that a patriarchal system affects the experiences of all us, regardless of gender, and especially those socialized as women. This includes examining toxic masculinity.
This approach emphasizes your unique qualities and the goal of being true to your self. We'll identify your strengths, skills, and ideal mode of being.
You're the expert on your own story. I'm here to learn your story so that I can best support you.
