About My Clients
I'm inspired by clients looking for a partner to help them through the pain points and changes in their lives (alcohol issues, mood issues, divorce, aging, new baby, parenting struggles, relationship problems, etc....). Clients don't have to be sure about therapy as their next step but just have to be open to coming in for their first appointment and the rest falls into place!
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Master of Social Work and hold a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have the honor of working with clients working through anxiety, perfectionism, substance use and insomnia. I've recently transitioned from serving as the Director of Behavioral Health for Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit into private practice to focus more time on holistic and evidence-based therapies to help clients heal faster. I love being able to offer various approaches to meet a client's individual preferences including online sessions, phone sessions, walk and talk sessions out in nature. My clients will tell that you the best thing about my approach to therapy is that I challenge them in kind, supportive way to learn and grow on their journey. Even the most difficult sessions tap into humor, hope and new skills to move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've spent my adult life volunteering for causes I care about including spending a year as a NCCC volunteer assisting hurricane victims, children with disabilities and underserved communities throughout the United States. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for Hospitality House, a local food pantry. I believe that we often live our best lives when we're able to find a way through our own issues and use that insight to help serve others with kindness and compassion.
