About My Clients
I strive to provide an environment that is safe and free of judgment, a place where it is okay to not be okay, while working on ways to improve and feel better. My goal is to provide a safe place for you to explore ways to heal, whatever that means for you, and to help you in your process. I offer a free phone consult so we both can determine a good fit.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with co-occurring disorders including addiction and trauma. My training started in a hospital on the Dual Diagnosis unit then grew into working as a trauma therapist and from there, working as both a residential and IOP therapist at a treatment center for chemical dependency and eating disorders. I work with both adolescents and adults. Being in recovery gives me both a professional and personal perspective in which to help you with your journey. Because I have an eclectic set of tools in my toolbox, we work together to find the intervention that works best for you. Talk therapy? ART? Hypnotherapy? Mindfulness? I am master level certified in ART, a trauma processing modality, as well has having experience and techniques in a variety of other interventions including CBT, DBT, ART, PE, and Hypnosis.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in an arena that allows people to explore their own path to recovery without being subjected to stigma, discrimination or limiting beliefs on the part of the provider. I believe in collaborating with people to work together on goals, not simply sitting in a chair behind a desk, dictating to someone through the lens of my own personal values. I believe that growth requires learning and that is best done together. I believe in empowerment, safety and peace of mind and I believe this for all.
