About My Clients
I embrace the unconventional, and my clients do too. They can be defined by their dualities -- solid and tender, one-of-a-kind and community-oriented, committed and flexible, intentional and spontaneous. They are lifelong learners in pursuit of healing via mind, body, soul, and spirit. My clients know that asking for help and facing their emotional vulnerabilities in therapy is a brave choice but one that is absolutely worthwhile.
My Background and Approach
I offer in-person, telehealth, and walk-and-talk therapy. Central to my philosophy is the idea that genuine change arises from a deep understanding of the self, including acknowledging both the conscious and unconscious aspects of our being. Moreover, I am an advocate of deconditioning – unraveling from the projected expectations that no longer serve you or feel aligned. By challenging unhelpful narratives, patterns, and projections, clients can reevaluate their values and aspirations, aligning them more closely with their truth and an authentic expression of themselves. Lastly, I view change as a collaborative endeavor. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership where both therapist and client work together towards growth. My role is to provide guidance, support, tools, and insight for clients to do meaningful work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a therapist because I have been super sensitive my entire life. It wasn't until my late twenties that I realized I needed a job where crying at work is not so frowned upon (kidding...kinda). Instead of seeing my deep feelings as something I needed to reform, I chose to use it as a superpower in counseling. Although the work done in therapy can get uncomfortable and intense, I place just as much importance on humor and lightheartedness. I still can't believe this is my job -- it really is the absolute best to have witnessed and had the honor of being a part of clients' transformations.
