About My Clients
As a queer therapist, I love supporting my fellow LGBTQIA+ community, and addressing both external and internalized marginalization. I enjoy helping people identify and work through the effects of relational trauma (childhood or recent emotional abuse/neglect/abandonment) - maybe you often feel emotionally overwhelmed, triggered, or frustrated with relationship or family issues. I'm also passionate about recognizing and addressing disordered eating and body image, and developing self compassion.
My Background and Approach
I am a relational therapist offering compassion and honesty. I believe you are already a whole, healthy human who may have unmet needs. We will consider your context - all the factors past and present impacting your wellbeing. I will empower you with psycho-education (I will teach you things!) and help you develop self-compassion, boundaries, and your own internal resources. The therapeutic relationship can be a safe container, a place to be witnessed and affirmed in your authentic self and story. Our relationship can also be a powerful tool in working through your relational wounds and trauma. Therapy is a process and we are a team. We will work together to grow your natural capacity for healing, change and acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a licensed mental health counselor associate in Washington state. My professional background outside of therapy includes teaching high school, coaching swim team, and providing infant childcare. I am dedicated to ongoing education and personal work in therapy and social justice issues. Personally, I am happiest when hiking, dancing zumba, lost in a book, or with people I love, and I recharge in the woods.
