About My Clients
I am very comfortable working with people from all walks of life with whatever struggles they may be facing. I feel particularly suited to help those who are surviving trauma, questioning their self-worth, experiencing depressive and anxious thoughts, as well as those struggling with identity, family structures, and finding their voice.
My Background and Approach
Hello, my name is Hannah. My intentions as your counselor are to provide you with the time, space, and capacity to support you and cultivate an environment for healing, empowerment, and growth. As every one of us is an individual, so too should be the help, care, and guidance you receive. I believe that a person sets their own goals and is the expert on their own lives and the people in them. Together as your guide, we will work collaboratively to achieve your aspirations. My goal is to help rejuvenate and redirect your innate healing abilities to help you feel fulfilled, happy, and safe. My therapeutic approach is individualistic, however, my therapeutic process is rooted in a combination of existentialist, trauma-informed, person-centered philosophy. Depending on your needs, some tools we may use in a session are specific skill building, mindfulness, values work, grounding techniques, creativity, as well as thought and coping skill exploration, and processing of past experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was drawn to counseling because of my experience in healthcare as a nursing aide and my passion for creating human connection. I am particularly interested in trauma and practicing therapy from a trauma-informed lens. I use various methods individualized to the people sitting in front of me. Because of my background in healthcare and holistic healing, I advocate for whole-person healing through various modalities. I believe in nourishing the mind, body, and spirit as a whole. All feelings are valid and normal. Each person is able to create their own life structure and changes being sensitive to the societal boundaries they are in. I believe there are endless things that shape who we are which include our past life experiences, personal values, culture, spirituality, intergenerational trauma, access to healthcare, nutrition, clean water, air, etc. I also believe in advocating for marginalized communities who have experienced discrimination and abuse as a result of their identities.
