Clinical Social Worker in Charlotte, NC

About My Clients

Childhood trauma sucks. When you're raised in dysfunctional family, you end up doubting your self-worth, questioning your lovability, and always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Are you needy or reactive in your relationships? Is it hardest to feel secure with the people who matter to you the most? Are you always just a little anxious? If you want to be less reactive and controlling with your loved ones and handle family of origin better, I’m your person. And I truly can’t wait to meet you.

My Background and Approach

I'm a clinical social worker, so I don't just see you as a bunch of symptoms or broken parts. I see you as a whole person who's been through some stuff. I've been through it, too. And I’ve got the personal and professional experience to help you recover. When we’re done, you’ll see yourself in a gentler way and have more peaceful, connected relationships. I use mindfulness and somatic techniques with an emphasis on self-compassion. In other words, I’ll teach you how to give yourself a break. I use reparenting practices to help you learn how to self-soothe (your sweethearts will love this!). And, for the really tough stuff, we can use EMDR to reduce the sting of your past traumas.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I’m a white, cisgender, female, pansexual, kink and poly-inclined person in a long-term monogamous marriage with a TGD person. There isn’t a healthy relationship configuration that I’ve been confused or unsettled by. If it works for you and yours, I think that’s great. And I’ll do everything I can to help you be the healthiest member of your relationship(s) that you can be. I’m spiritual with an agnostic leaning and I affirm all faiths that have a live-and-let-live foundation including atheism. I value intersectionality and think it’s the only way we’re going to make sustainable positive changes in this world. I dance, garden, train dogs, dabble in fiction writing, love being outdoors, cook damn fine food, and I'm kind of nerdy in general. I believe you deserve to know as much or as little about your therapist as you need to in order to feel safe in their care. If there’s something you need to know that isn’t mentioned here, please ask me.
