About My Clients
If you’re trying to move through major life adjustments, your creative practice, depression, anxiety, self-esteem problems, grief, trauma, parenting, infertility, and/or interpersonal relationships, I utilize a variety of strength-based, culturally-sensitive modalities (catered to each therapeutic relationship) to help you navigate those and create therapeutic goals with you. I also offer EMDR and walking sessions (yes… we can walk together!) for those who are interested.
My Background and Approach
I’m a huge fan of storytelling, the stories we tell ourselves, and uncovering the ways in which these narratives guide us. I work psychodynamically, which is another way of saying that I recognize the influence our past has on our present. I will work with you to increase a sense of hope, in a comfortable and nonjudgmental setting, and maybe even help reconnect you to what excites you. My work in the room (or telehealth) focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking styles, the meanings we make, mindfulness, the mind-body connection, and building self-compassion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the importance of continued education, both for myself and my clients, as this is another way to explore our interests and keep forward momentum. I’m passionate about social justice and received my education from Columbia University's social work program. I also believe in the power of getting out into nature after having hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016.
