About My Clients
As a MFT intern, I am especially excited to work with school-aged children and adolescents and their families as they navigate through the many transitions that arise during this time of life. My experience working with kids comes from many years of taking care of numerous younger siblings and cousins. I also advised teenaged university students for many years, focusing on the whole person by supporting leadership development, interpersonal skills, and scholastic growth.
My Background and Approach
First and foremost, I am a systemic therapist. This means that I am trained in a variety of models which view clients and their reasons for seeking therapy in the context of the systems they belong to. Those systems might be relationships, family, school, society, or culture. While I bring my systemic training into each therapeutic relationship, I primarily practice from an attachment-based perspective, most commonly utilizing the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) treatment modality. I may also incorporate Internal Family Systems modalities as needed in treatment. Ultimately, therapy is a collaborative process and I look forward to working with you to find the best approach to support your goals.
