About My Clients
I work with couples and relationship groups, individual adults, adolescents, and families from a client-centered, relational, and strengths-based approach. I welcome clients who are seeking help with anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, relational distress, sexual difficulties, navigating life transitions, and figuring out who they are. I will help you clarify what you really want, and walk with you through the changes to get you there.
My Approach to Helping
I’m queer and trans affirming, sex-positive, and kink and polyam affirming. It’s important to me to honor the cultural identities of my clients—age, race, religion, class, nationality, gender, ethnicity, ability—and to empower them to leverage cultural strengths in our work towards their goals. I also strive to be attentive to how systemic oppression, privilege, and power impact my clients’ lives and intersect with the issues that we address together. I hold a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University-Seattle. Sessions are held online for some clients, and outdoors for other clients. For outdoor sessions, I use a nature-based therapy model that includes setting intentions, and using ritual, ceremony and experiential interventions so clients can move through the stuck places in their lives. If you don't get much out talking in an office, and want to DO something, I may be the therapist you never thought you'd find!
Why I am a Good Fit for You
You know that while healing and growth can be *hard*, it’s worth it and you’re ready to do that work. Therapy isn’t about pathologizing you. Instead, we’ll explore how your growing-up experience within the context of modern society has tricked you into misunderstanding your worth. We will develop specific practices to help you shrink the impact of unhelpful messages you’ve absorbed throughout your life. Some clients and I do only online sessions. With others, we meet outdoors for nature-based, experiential therapy sessions, rain or shine (unless dangerous). Reach out.
