My Background and Approach
My goal as a therapist is to help you identify the skills and strengths you already possess and utilize them in a healthy way to maximize your overall healing. I utilize a person-centered approach, meaning; I believe clients to be the expert on themselves, and my role as a therapist is to help you identify new methods to engage with to become the best version of yourself. That starts with us taking a deeper look at your present thoughts and challenging you to try new things to help you see new results.For the past 7 years, my practice has been focused on helping people overcome anxiety, combat depression and embrace their new normal after experiencing grief and loss. I meet you exactly where you are and equip you with the skills I have acquired through training and certification programs that teach the most cutting edge techniques for healing. We'll address what comes up for you when you're feeling out of balance so you can learn how to quickly calm down so that you can truly heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the ability to change, no matter the age and stage of life they're in. I truly believe that people are limitless. In my time as a clinician but also as a human being, I have identified mental health concerns arising due to people truly getting stuck on unhealthy societal pressures and unrealistic, self-imposed expectations. All of these things can be unlearned. I am confident in this because, I have been on the other side as well as a client. Experiencing therapy for myself helped equip me with the life skills I needed to navigate through bouts of sadness and anxiety, and I have dedicated my work to showing people just like you how to obtain that same emotional freedom and get back to enjoying life, every single day. I'm huge advocate for millennials in corporate spaces, black and brown women and reproductive justice. I like brunch on Saturdays and lazy Sundays. I'm a human just like you. Let's chat!
