About My Clients
I am passionate about working with queer people of color who are struggling to believe that they are enough. Many folks come to therapy to improve their self-esteem and are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to do that work. It’s common for my clients to come to therapy feeling isolated and find it challenging to connect with others. They’re hoping to understand why they are feeling so uncomfortable and “walled off” from their emotions and the world around them.
My Background and Approach
I completed my graduate education at California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and my practicum experience at The Relational Center in Los Angeles. I approach therapy from expressive arts, narrative, and relational gestalt lenses. I believe that incorporating creative expression into therapeutic work can help clients uncover aspects of themselves that aren't as easily conveyed through verbal communication alone. The stories we carry are powerful. They can shape our lives and we can grow through our engagement with them. I view the main goal of therapy to be assisting clients with increasing their self-awareness. We already have all the answers we need. Sometimes having a dedicated space for inner work helps us find them. I love working collaboratively with clients to create a therapeutic space that works for them. Part of this process is building a strong therapeutic relationship that enables clients and myself to show up authentically.
