About My Clients
Are you wondering why your relationships are struggling? Are you in an interracial relationship and finding bridging cultural gaps challenging? Is trauma impacting your connections with yourself and others? We are wired to connect - we thrive on our connections with our spouses, children, friends and coworkers. The quality of these relationships makes a huge impact on our overall well being. Let me help you find the best version of yourself in relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am a cisgendered South Asian immigrant woman living in the greater Seattle area. I hold a masters in Counseling Psychology from LIOS Saybrook University and a masters in Environmental Anthropology. My experience includes working with POC, genderqueer individuals and couples to address anxiety, depression, ADHD, racial trauma, that impact relationships. My approach is integrative and I use what is happening in the moment in session both somatically and emotionally to help you gain a better understanding of self and others. I draw from emotionally focused therapy, narrative therapy, Gottman, cognitive-behavioral therapy and social justice framework theories to help you articulate the best version of yourself. I believe therapy is a co-created space and I offer you an invitation to come discover what is possible when you are held in safety, curiosity and non-judgement.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is important to me to decolonize the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client, where both the therapist and client co-create from the point of intake to closing what is therapeutically beneficial for the client. It is an acknowledgment that there are power and privilege differentials that exist within the space of therapy. I want to work with people struggling to navigate many different worlds in their everyday life- to help them discover their most authentic expression of who they are. I want to hold space for people trying to find meaning in in-between spaces. I am motivated to do this in a way that is survivor led, trauma informed and multi-culturally competent. This looks like moving from a place of awareness around my own power and privilege. Are you on this journey? I want to know you. I want to hear your story and know the narratives that shape you. I want to hold space for the authentic story of you.
