About My Clients

When our whole being is overwhelmed and struggling to cope, we develop patterns such as anxiety, eating disorders, chronic stress and more. I can help to reshape those patterns by using a safe and genuine relationship as the foundation for healing. I will help you navigate challenges with compassion and down-to earth practices to ease your suffering, while helping you heal the root pain. I specialize working with BIPOC, second-gen immigrants, LGBTQIA+s folks, and folks with chronic pain/illness.

My Background and Approach

I believe that providing treatment is not the same as supporting healing. I’m all about the healing because I’m not interested in seeing you assimilate or “maintain a baseline functioning”, I’m interested in seeing you bloom. Your healing means more energy towards your passions, commitments, and care for the world. That is why I gravitate towards approaches that are multi-layered, dynamic, and socially conscious- whether that is using Interpersonal Neurobiology (to see trauma holistically), Somatic Practices (using the body to support processing and healing), Narrative Therapy (understanding the impact of our thoughts and stories), and Buddhist Psychology (building intentionality, and connection to meaning). I have specialized training in trauma, anxiety, IPV/DV, and eating disorders.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

To fully support healing, I lean on Liberation based principals that encourage me to think critically about the impact of oppression on mental health and challenge traditional therapeutic practices that tend to uphold oppressive systems. One of the ways I expand the traditional model is by emphasizing a genuine connection with my clients. I am not a blank slate or neutral observer. Because of my deep care and compassion for my clients, I value being committed to each and every client. In session I am engaged and collaborative, and beyond sessions I engage in advocacy and continued learning. I also believe to have transformative change on the multilayer impact of stress, harm, and trauma, a holistic approach that embraces fields like neuroscience, biology, and even sociology, anthropology is needed. You are complex, multidimensional, and so are your needs.
