I enjoy working with individuals around issues of depression/anxiety, adoption/attachment issues, parenting, relationships/family issues, adjustment/transitions, trauma and dissociation.
My Background and Approach
During sessions, you can expect compassion and understanding, it is my goal to provide a safe space that is gentle, collaborative, and direct in order to help you better understand and find a solution to current or long-standing challenges through a trauma-sensitive approach. Now offering Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can heal. Our worldview has been shaped by our experiences from the moment we arrived here and through our experiences we have formed beliefs about ourselves, how we interact with others, and the world around us. Whether big or small, life's challenges or traumas effect us and we respond the best way we know how; often times leaving us using adaptive strategies that no longer serve us, such as negative self talk/beliefs, depression, anxiety, shutting down/avoiding conflict/problems. I believe that with guidance, practice with new strategies, processing and learning new ways to care for ourselves we can move along our healing journeys. Outside of providing therapy, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, partner and family, hiking and making pottery.
