My Background and Approach
I have worked with individuals and families addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, parenting problems, as well as identity and career challenges. I have also helped many people over the years establish a stronger sense of self-esteem and life direction. I am trained in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). My counseling approach is strengths-based and person-centered. I employ the use of realist problem-solving modalities, and will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your personalized needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent worth and value of each individual. I believe in treating everyone with unconditional positive regard and I strongly oppose stigmatizing labels. I specialize in working with historically oppressed and vulnerable groups such as women, BIPOC individuals, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
