About My Clients
I have particular expertise working with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Hoarding Disorder. I also enjoy supporting parents of young children, parents of adult children living at home, and adults living with their parents. I support you with your career struggles, trauma, grief, and self-esteem issues.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in multiple therapeutic orientations. I primarily like working as a relational therapist to help people get "unstuck" in relationship patterns that are interfering with their personal goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the LGBTQ community. I have publicly advocated for laws on gay marriage in my state. One of my early experiences in public advocacy in the 1990s, when neighbors stole my signs supporting gay marriage, I spray painted my lawn with the sign's contents. My neighbors were not too happy with me for spray painting my lawn, but I felt that advocating for marriage rights was essential, and I could not be silent. Within the same time, I wrote an editorial in the newspaper on the importance of respecting others, then many of the community began acting a little more respectful. I am also aware of the intersections of LGBTQ rights and disability and try to support those who often cannot speak for themselves regarding their sexual orientation and identity. I am spiritual and respect those who do or do not have a spiritual belief system.
