Our couple and family relationships are where we experience our greatest highs and our greatest lows. That’s both wonderful and difficult, frustrating and confusing. But it’s normal. I help people understand what activates their panic, fear and withdrawal in these important relationships, and how they get caught in a negative cycle or pattern. If you can be clear about what you are reacting to, and the stories you tell yourselves about each other and your relationships, you can learn to safely explore those with each other, and learn what is really under the surface. Learning to slow down and communicate more accurate emotional messages has been shown to change relationships and enhance connection, creating the secure bond and safe haven.
In my 25 years as a therapist, I have developed specialty areas in adolescent/family therapy, eating disorders, anxiety/depression, marital/couple/relationship therapy, pre-marital therapy and mediation.
