About My Clients
Everyone has feelings of emotional ups and downs at some point in their life. Therapy can be helpful when these feelings are too much, too often, or hurt the things and people we value most. I specialize in women's physical and emotional health throughout the lifespan, from starting school, entering the workforce, occupational burnout, reproductive health, parenthood, retirement & next steps.
My Background and Approach
I am a cognitive behavioral therapist (CBT) by training, meaning I take an active role as a therapist, providing a nonjudgmental safe space combined with gentle inquiry to help you navigate your thoughts, feeling and behaviors as they relate to you reaching your goals. You are the expert of you. As such, collaboration and trust are key parts to helping you guide treatment to suit your needs and meet your goals. In addition to CBT, I provide additional evidence-based strategies that come from Mind/Body Therapies, Cognitive Processing for Trauma, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe in the power of advocacy and working with others to make positive change. My belief in advocacy is grounded in working towards a more equitable, inclusive, and just world. This is reflected in my work as a clinician, researcher, and community service member. As such, I am committed to lifelong experiential learning and growth to hone my capacity for cultural humility. I welcome adults of all ages, abilities, genders, orientations, ethnicities, and spiritual beliefs to reach out for care.
