About My Clients
Some days it's like you can't take another moment of it. The worries that make your heart pound. The sadness that makes you cry for no reason. The destructive patterns you return to , again and again. It feels like you're alone, and even if someone could understand, they might think worse of you. Let me help you get through it. Everyone has potential. Amazing potential, in fact. But life can make us forget that. I see therapy as a tool to find not only wellness, but also yourself, again.
My Background and Approach
Although therapy can seem intimidating, my goal is to work in partnership with you and to equip you to move forward feeling confident. I draw on my training and experience, but I will ask you to help me understand your unique perspective. There are certainly tried and true therapy tools and techniques. But the beauty of our humanity is that we are all similar and different. So, no matter how 'textbook' (or not) your difficulties are, your therapy will be unique to your needs. My constant goal is to be always learning with my clients. We do this through building trust, a common understanding through communication and collaborating to find the best solution for your health and wellbeing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Becoming a Licensed Counselor grew out of a passion to advocate for the rights of abused and marginalized groups of people often swept under the rug of our society. I've worked and volunteered in non-profit organizations focused on advocacy and support for survivors of abuse, domestic violence and sex trafficking. I believe that society can be measured by how it protects those who are most vulnerable.
