About My Clients
So many of us have had to disconnect from our body to survive in some way, whether that be due to difficult experiences, marginalization, relational wounds, or other forms of trauma. Yet, many of us reach a point in our lives where being at war with ourselves is no longer working. You may be noticing that the way you relate to yourself is negatively impacting your health, your life and how you show up in your relationships. Therapy can help heal so you can show up more fully in your life.
My Background and Approach
In both my personal and professional life, I operate from a trauma-informed, identity affirming, and anti-oppressive lens. I strive to advocate for a world where all of us are safe, cared for, and celebrated. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help equip you with tools for navigating life stressors. Additionally, I am trained in trauma-focused modalities including Brainspotting, IFS, and EMDR -- which I have found to be powerful tools for going beyond coping skills to the deeper healing often needed for sustaining changes in our lives. Above any clinical expertise or modality, I am just a fellow human floating on this big old beautiful planet. Even in the most ideal circumstances, living is mixed with much pain and suffering. In my experience, it is often in relationship with ourselves, the earth, and community that we find meaning and comfort amidst the messiness inherent in living a fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer person who has had to navigate harmful systems, find my voice, and reclaim my relationship with myself, I am here to help you find your own way to healing in the ways that make sense for you. I will not try to make you fit into another mold or therapy protocol. We will work together to find tools that work for you within the context of your life and lived experience. My practice is grounded in: - Body liberation - Inclusivity - Autonomy - Compassion - Curiosity
