About My Clients
Despite our best efforts, everyone struggles at times. I understand that making changes in your life can be overwhelming. I encourage you to gather courage, ask questions, and have hope that things can get better if you are willing to work for it. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, life stressors, self esteem, grief/loss, and more. I have extensive experience in LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health practice.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to create a safe, caring, and nonjudgmental space for clients to be heard and understood. Communicating feelings in a safe environment promotes healing through expression, leads to new insights about yourself, and can help you form more meaningful connections with others. I am attuned to cross-cultural factors which may influence treatment preferences and strive to help people achieve satisfaction and reach their full potential. I provide highly individualized care tailored to each client’s needs and emphasize a holistic approach to emotional health. Most often therapy with me utilizes multiple approaches with transparency about specific decisions. Medication follow up visits are often combined with therapy techniques. If you'd like to schedule a free 15 minute consult call, shoot me a message or call to see if we would be a good fit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is trying to do the best that they can in life and are experts of their own personal experiences. I pay attention to affirming all intersectional aspects of identity and am attuned to the role of trauma as well as disruptions in a person's development and how they form attachments with others. I provide long-term psychodynamically informed psychiatric and therapy care that refuses to pathologize dimensions of identity including but not limited to sexuality, gender, race, religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, neurodivergence, physical abilities. I recognize the negative impact that marginalization has on the psyche and see myself as a partner on the path towards healing, change, and overall wellness. I engage in continual self exploration and education to ensure I am working through a social justice informed lens.
