About My Clients
My clients are human; imperfect and ever-changing -and so am I. I'm a mental health therapist that specializes in emotional regulation and healthy coping of children, parents, small families, and I've got great experience in supporting client growth and stabilization in the face of crisis. We will work together through the tough emotions and bodily responses, get to the root of the problems and implement small changes, in order to reach our goals.
My Background and Approach
I like to be silly, expressive, and make people feel comfortable when relating, but I also articulate myself carefully and with passion because I genuinely care, and because I know what I'm talking about. I am energized by helping my young clients to become more congruent with their own developing values, behaviors, wants, needs, and aspirations; about helping families to feel more engaged and connected; about helping our community become more communicative and united; -that’s what my practice, Well1 Mental Health, advocates for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The foundation of my therapeutic practice is the person/child-centered approach taught by Cal State Fullerton, made concrete by my clients in community mental health: The incredible stories and experiences of the children, families, and individuals that I've been honored to work with continue to highlight my personal belief in the call and acts for justice. From using my secondary Spanish-language skills to create emotional safety with children in Santa Ana, to making space for and containing the tears of young Black youth during the recent rise of the BLM movement in Long Beach, I aim to meet people where they are at. -And believe the power of that, whole-heartedly. You may be hungry for help, but you're truly good enough as you are. Let me reflect that for you.
