Hello all! I am a white, queer-identifying, cisgender woman. I am very passionate about helping others live authentically.
Clinical Social Worker in Wilmington, DE
I have a great deal of experience working with folx with anxiety for a variety of reason, especially that related to perfectionism, being "type A," trying to do everyone one "should" do, and negative self-talk. Together we can work on coping skills, grounding, how to stop-the-spiral, what to do during panic attacks, and more.
I have experience with death-related grief & loss through my work in hospice, as well as experience in ICU, oncology, and emergency settings. It is my firm belief that grief & loss are inherent in many parts of life, including but not limited to: loss of independence, relationship breakdown, grieving former identities, life transitions, and more. I am also currently Certified in Thanatology through the Association of Death Education and Counseling.
I enjoy working with individuals who are looking to gain insight into their inner selves, to understand where they come from, who they see themselves as now, and what they can do to further their own sense of authenticity. There are so many things that we are not taught related to self-concept, self-image, identifying and managing our emotions, and honing in on our our personal wants, needs, and boundaries. I can help with that.
The stories we tell ourselves in our own heads are incredibly powerful, AND only we get to decide which of those stories we take as truth and integrate into our understanding of ourselves and the world. I believe that YOU are the expert in your own life, and by recreating and retelling your personal stories in a new way, we can reduce the influence of your problems and center what is most important to you.
All humans have free will, though we may not always know how to exercise it or step past the barriers that may come up in our lives without our control. Using self-discovery as a powerful tool, we can delve into the difference between "who you are now" and "who you want to be," to try to close that gap as much as possible. You have the tools within you to do this, you just need a guide along the way. I can be that guide.
Please note: Coaching is NOT the same as therapy. Through a clinical lens, I am happy to offer niche specific coaching programs to folx who are curious about or already embracing any form of non-monogamy. I work with individuals who want to begin a non-monogamous relationship, open a previously monogamous one, or go back to basics and hit the reset button on non-monogamy that hasn't gone well for them. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know first-hand what it's like to live in a world that often invalidates your identity and creates systems that assume heteronormativity. Identity is so important, and it is my goal to ensure that you feel comfortable in the therapeutic space.
