Welcome! I am a trauma therapist specializing in complex trauma (CPTSD) and PTSD. I also work with dissociative disorders.
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA
Trauma work is body centered work. We cannot properly address trauma without a somatic component. I use a variety of somatic based approaches to support clients in reconnecting to their body in a safe way, while also increasing self-awareness. I focus on helping clients strengthen their interoception.
I work with those with dissociative disorders, and actively seek monthly consultation to ensure I am providing the best care for this population.
I love EMDR. I am EMDR certified and also an EMDR consultant in training, meaning I provide consultation to other EMDR therapists who need additional support. I am passionate about this type of work and get to see how much it is beneficial to those who experience it.
I am an intermediate level somatic experiencing therapist, so I focus on treating trauma from the bottom up. This means we start in the body and work outwards to your thoughts.
I have focused my career on learning about trauma and the treatment of trauma. I am passionate about this work and this drives my drive to keep educating myself on how to treat trauma. I have also created a trauma program at a previous agency and have given talks and trainings to other therapists on this topic. Any time I have I devote to understanding the complexity that is trauma!
I work with both PTSD and CPTSD using different trauma modalities, interventions and resources. I can work with single-incident traumas, however, most of the clients I work with have an extensive history of trauma starting from childhood.
I have been working with survivors of sexual trauma for most of my professional life. I have worked with survivors of incest, sexual abuse, assault, and rape.
Everyone experiences grief at some point. Although this is the case, everyone experiences it differently. Despite common belief, grief does not fall into stages or a linear process. Grief and mourning can be messy, unpredictable, and complex. I have specific training on grief work with EMDR.
