About My Clients

I view therapy as a space to help you better see yourself in all aspects of who you are, feel more included in relation to those around you, and experience a greater understanding of how you fit into a wider world. Maybe you’re exploring your non-binary gender for the first time, supporting a trans family member, or working through relationship challenges as an LGBTQ+ person. Together, we can explore what “seen,” “included,” and “understood” mean for you and how you can achieve them.

My Background and Approach

Working with the Transgender and Non-Binary community is my personal and professional passion. I view clients as wonderfully-complex and believe treatment should adapt to meet them where they are at all times. I work to create safe spaces for clients to explore, heal, and grow that incorporate their own sociocultural realities into the therapy process. Rather than using a more universal approach, it’s important to me to collaborate with my clients as much as possible to adjust treatment in ways that best fit unique needs, preferences, and life experiences. To do this, I may make use of different therapy treatment styles and theoretical orientations. These may include, though are not limited to, psychodynamic therapy, Family Systems therapy, LGBTQ+ Affirmative interventions, and providing psychoeducation and resources specific to clients’ own expansive gender and/or sexual identities and experiences.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles specializing in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Psychotherapy and completed my clinical training with the LGBTQ+ Center at Airport Marina Counseling Service. In addition to my experience as a therapist, I have also been a client myself for more than ten years and I am inspired by the power of therapy as an opportunity to discover one’s inner resilience, voice, and capacity for change. I believe it can make a big difference when others resonate with thoughts, feelings, and experiences similar to those we’ve had ourselves. While I can only speak from my own perspective, I strive to bring every bit of that perspective into my work with clients. Reaching out for help can be scary. You're more than valid to feel this way and you’ve been through so much to get this far! I believe you have amazing strengths and countless resources within you and our work together can help you unearth them.
