Maybe you have upsetting memories, negative thoughts about yourself, feeling isolated from others, difficulty experiencing positive emotions or trouble concentrating at school or work. Maybe you have a difficult time sleeping at night. PTSD has multiple symptoms and it can feel overwhelming. PTSD can be from experiencing a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, physical abuse, bullying, witnessing a family member or close friend experience a traumatic event and more.
My Background and Approach
It is my number one goal to support you and help you experience a sense of safety and stability. You will learn coping mechanisms and ways of managing the overwhelming feelings and emotions. I use different approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing or "EMDR." Research has shown EMDR therapy to be effective in treating PTSD. EMDR helps you process through debilitating thoughts and beliefs you've struggled with as a result of past experiences. EMDR helps get "stuck" memories "unstuck" so that you can move on with your life and stop living in the past.
