About My Clients
You have worked hard to be and do what is expected. You are a high achiever, go-getter, and set high expectations of yourself. But despite all of your accomplishments you feel your inner critic reminding you that you're not good enough, and you constantly beat yourself up about it. You feel burned out and exhausted from living up to the expectations of others and don't think that you can do it anymore. You know you want to feel better, to do more of what you want, but unsure how to get started.
My Background and Approach
In order to feel accepted by others we oftentimes place high value on what others may want from us, and how they want us to be. We may act or do things in order to get approval from others, which can lead us to abandon who we truly are. I work with adults that experience this type of existential anxiety and depression. Professionals who experience quarter or midlife crisis, where they are going through the motions, dreading the start of a new week, feeling depressed and stuck. New parents who are trying to figure their new identity, balancing a demanding career with family life, feeling burned out, exhausted, and guilty for taking some time for themselves. Therapy can help untangle the ways in which you are acting out of your own genuine desires, or living for someone else. I will hold space for you to discover the thoughts and behaviors that are congruent with who you are and who you want to be, and let go of those no longer serving you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person has the potential to create change, and let go of anything that is holding them back from that process. Healing begins when we have the courage to take a look at ourselves, the parts that we find acceptable, and those that we hide to avoid judgement from others. I believe each and every one of us has unique gifts that we bring with us to this world, and it’s up to us to uncover what they are, and move closer to understanding our true unique selves. In therapy It is my honor to walk alongside of you as you explore what your truth is, in a supportive and accepting environment. While I believe that depression, sadness, and anxiety are natural parts of life, I also firmly believe that being free from fear and shame is a human right. If you want to learn more about how I can help, shoot me a message. I look forward to working with you.
