About My Clients
I support moms who may be struggling with postpartum depression, anxiety, or struggling with their identity since motherhood. I also have experience treating women who struggle with infertility or have experienced pregnancy loss. I also treat working professionals who need help setting boundaries, decreasing anxiety or depression, or improving work-life balance, perfectionism, and/or relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am well-versed in many approaches so that I can serve your unique needs. The techniques I most often utilize are derived from CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and trauma-informed approaches, including mind-body techniques. I am certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional and my approach to treating trauma usually consists of helping clients understand their biological responses to traumatic events, stabilizing clients' emotions and symptoms they are experiencing n the present, and avoiding retraumatizing clients. I do not need to know the details of the event(s), nor will I ask. If you'd like to share, I am here to listen and provide support. I utilize relaxation and sensorimotor techniques to help with stabilizing emotions and symptoms in the present. I will often email clients additional information (handouts, videos, etc.) on what was discussed in session in the event they want to learn more and/or continue to practice outside of session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My clients describe me as understanding, respectful and nonjudgmental. I aim to understand each client and their own spiritual, religious, and cultural beliefs. I will get to know how these beliefs and cultural backgrounds influence their current experiences so I can better help and understand my clients. If I do not feel I have the experience or specialty needed for any reason, I will refer my client to someone who could better serve them.
