About My Clients
I hold the perspective that we all need support and care in order to know and understand ourselves in the social, political, and personal context in which we have been formed. I believe that therapy can offer a space to collaboratively explore oneself and more deeply understand the uniqueness of our experience in the world. I have interest and experience working with folks around relationship and family dynamics, traumatic experiences, LGBTQIA+ mental health, anxiety and depression, .
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I offer a space for clients to find themselves and explore the parts of them that haven't had the chance to be seen. Together, we will co-create a space where clients can learn to trust and attune to themselves and express their experiences to me and to others. My approach is informed by a relational psychodynamic theory, meaning that I believe it is in and through relationships that we can begin to experience connection, movement, and healing. My approach is also informed by parts work, a systemic lens, attachment theory, and British objects relations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is deserving of relational connection and belonging. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have experienced the pain that can occur when oppressive structures try and eradicate people and groups of people. I also have experienced the joy and freedom that comes with getting to exist as my authentic self. As a therapist, I value making room for a person's whole self, including the parts that have endured pain and betrayal. Taking steps toward therapy is a vulnerable and sometimes overwhelming process and it is important to me that each person and I take the time to build trust and create an environment of safety together.
