I am a San Diego based licensed therapist & yoga teacher who is passionate about empowering others to find their inner peace & self-worth.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Carlsbad, CA
As someone who has struggled with anxiety her whole life, I have the insight and tools to support you with your own symptoms of anxiety. I approach anxiety with mindfulness, body awareness, and self-acceptance.
My experience with grief/loss includes working with people living with cancer or survivors of cancer; hospice patients and their families; children who have lost a parent, primary caregiver/guardian, or sibling; families involved in the foster care system; and ambiguous losses such as miscarriages/abortions. I provide a safe space to talk about the loss of your loved one and guide you in processing the present emotions.
I have worked in the field of foster care for over 7 years with families who are fostering. Having a therapist with this unique understanding of the field is really powerful if you are fostering yourself or if you have been involved in the foster care system. There are many nuances in understanding the court system/process and all the unknowns and unexpected challenges that come with being involved in the foster care system. I can provide insight, education, and emotional support.
I have advanced training in Emotional Freedom Tapping. EFT uses key acupressure points to release the toxic energy that accumulates in the physical body. EFT has been found helpful in the treatment of: fears and phobias, all types of traumas, grief and loss, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, stress and anxiety, anger, cravings & addictions, and peak performance. Calming the body (where stress is stored) is a missing key to unlocking rapid change.
As a Registered Yoga Teacher, I have advanced training in meditation and mindfulness to support people that might be struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma. Mindfulness involves moment-by-moment awareness of what a person is experiencing, such as paying close attention to breathing, noises, sensations in the body, inner feelings and thoughts, and our reactions to specific situations.
I take an integrative, holistic, bio-psycho-social therapeutic approach that addresses the whole person, the family system, and professional and home environments. Holistic psychotherapy or body-centered psychotherapy, is an integrative type of therapy that incorporates both traditional and non-traditional treatments to help the individual as a whole.
