About My Clients
I get it; starting a new healing journey can be challenging, scary, and maybe even a tad exciting. You're ready to shift out of the negative patterns holding you back, and you want to embrace a new way of living life, one that feels more authentic to who you truly are. I love working with people who identify as type-a, perfectionistic, highly driven individuals who are ready to step out of the narrative that trauma has shaped and find their own unique and authentic voice.
My Background and Approach
I take a holistic approach to therapy, offering clients the tools they need for physical and emotional healing. I practice an evidence-based therapy modality called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which leverages the brain’s natural functioning to encode painful memories into the past. This results in clients feeling less impacted by their trauma-related negative emotional reactions. I am also a certified yoga teacher and enjoy incorporating mindfulness and movement into my sessions. I have also started to offer EMDR therapy intensives, which are longer than standard weekly sessions and are scheduled on an as-needed basis for those who want a jump start on the therapy process. These EMDR intensives include a 90-minute foundational session and 7.5 hours of EMDR therapy work in one day, with breaks and lunch added to the client's preference. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone starts in life with this spark of light inside them. We also go through heartbreak, stress, trauma, and not-so-happy events as we go through life. These things impact our view of ourselves and how we see the world. AND that spark is still in there, beneath the damage the world has inflicted. I support and advocate for social justice and the Black Lives Matter movement. I believe that individuals impacted by the lack of social justice are the people most hurt firsthand by trauma and experiencing generational trauma. I am here as an advocate, supporter, and trauma healer who can help in the process of healing from trauma. I practice a lot of self-reflection to be aware of my biases and privileges and actively seek to create change within myself and the world around me to be more just, fair, and accepting.
