About My Clients
I work primarily with those seeking to heal relationships with loved ones or themselves. I have an interest in working with interracial or multicultural relationships. I also work with individuals to address difficult experiences such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, racial/ethnic Identity, acculturation, shame/critical self-view, and trauma. Together, we can work towards creating the change that will best serve you and your relationships.
My Background and Approach
My journey into counseling initially began as a counselor of law and subsequently, as a therapist. In helping my clients, I take a holistic and strength-based approach. I view clients in the context of their family, racial/ethnic identity, and social or cultural environment. I work with emotions to strengthen the bonds in relationships. I also focus on solutions, working through trauma with the body, and I integrate the practice of mindfulness and compassion into my work. I am trained in emotionally focused therapy. I use attachment theory and integrate principles of relational-cultural theory, somatics, EMDR, and neuroscience into my work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The path to change often comes from our willingness to lean into our struggles. Therapy offers us this space and the opportunity to bring into harmony the different aspects of ourselves and our relationships, especially those parts that seem misaligned or incongruent.
