About My Clients

If life is a story, our bodies are the pages on which the story is written. For those of us who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges, our bodies continue to carry the stories we tell about ourselves and the stories others told about us. If you are looking for healing and wholeness that integrates your whole self - body, mind, and soul - we may be a good match. Please reach out to see if I can be a support in helping you find the healing you deserve.

My Background and Approach

From as early as I can remember, I have loved talking with people and spending time in community with others. My first real job at the age of 16 was as a nurses’ aide in an assisted living facility. It was at that point that I knew I would spend my life working with people. From there I went on to get a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Music and a Masters in Social Work. In addition to my training as a clinical social worker, I am also a certified yoga teacher and have additional training in trauma-informed yoga from the Center for Trauma and Embodiment. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness, meditation, and embodiment practices, including yoga, into my sessions with individuals and families. My professional career has included engaging with students and families in therapeutic elementary, middle, and high school settings; working as a social worker in elder care services; and serving youth and families in a community mental health setting.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Whatever your reason for seeking out therapy today, know that you are welcome here. Rather than telling you what to do or handing out advice, I believe that my job is to engage you in looking deep within yourself for the answers and healing you desire. Coming from a humanistic perspective, my practice is based on the belief that every human being has inherent dignity and worth. I truly trust that you are already whole and have everything you need within you to create change and live the life you are meant to live; you may just need some support in developing and connecting to your inner wisdom, which is where I come in. I am here to provide a safe space for you to explore your inner landscape in order to help you meet your goals. Depending on your preferences and needs, I will use an eclectic mix of mindfulness, body-based, expressive, and cognitive approaches, all from a trauma-informed perspective.
