About My Clients

Is your inner critic running the show more often than not? Do you have trouble believing in yourself or taking action that you know would help you grow? Many of my clients come to me because they are not sure how to move through blocks that are keeping them stuck. My passion is helping people (re)discover their most confident, secure, and fulfilled sense of self. I do this by teaching people how to harness their strengths as tools for creating their vision of wellbeing.

My Background and Approach

You are the expert on your own life, and there is a wise part of you that knows the answers. However, you may have blocks, such as limiting beliefs and toxic shame, that are keeping you from your own knowing. My job is to provide you with tools for you to access your deepest wisdom. I can teach you how to reconnect with yourself so you can live authentically and as the best version of yourself. One of the most harmful consequences of trauma is that it ruptures connection to self and erodes the felt sense of safety. I understand this and will take care to establish safety and connection with you before processing trauma. I uses a gentle, empathic approach to guide you through the counseling process. I use a variety of methods, but I mainly specialize in a trauma treatment called EMDR. I was trained through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), which is an organization that sets the highest standards of excellence and integrity in EMDR.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It makes my soul happy to see people thrive because I have a genuine love for the human race. I believe that those who have lost their way need a guide to help find their way back to themselves, which is what I love to do. In my opinion, much of what we see as mental illness are patterns of thinking and behaving that developed in response to unsafe environments and/or trauma. This view allows me to have compassion for those struggling with mental health challenges, and it helps me to teach them how to have compassion for themselves. I, myself, have done work to heal from trauma and learned how to be my own compassionate caregiver through EMDR, inner child work, and holistic wellness. I love to cook healthy meals (mostly vegan), engage in mindful movement (hello, hot yoga!), and read under trees because it stimulates my mind and connects me to nature. Just as I have found my own tools for wellbeing, I can help you find yours, too.
