About My Clients
Has your family experienced trauma or hardship? Are you the parent of a child or teen who is dealing with intense emotions, unwanted behavior, or even self-harm or suicidal ideation? From struggle comes resiliency, strength, and growth. My goal is to empower children, adolescents, adults, an families to grow and learn from tough experiences and to heal the wounds their struggles may left behind. I look forward to hearing your stories and helping you grow and heal!
My Background and Approach
I can provide different types of therapy depending on what you or your family needs. Younger children express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences through play. It is their language. Therefore, I utilize child-centered play and cognitive behavioral therapy play as well as attachment interventions to help you and your child develop a closer bond. For children between the ages of 6 and 18 who have experienced trauma, I utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This evidence-based therapy helps children and their caregivers manage the impacts of trauma and heal from their experiences. For adults who have experienced trauma, I will help you learn how to manage distress and work towards telling your stories. For youth and young adults experiencing other difficulties such as anxiety, aggressive/unwanted behavior, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, stress, or relationship issues, I will help you learn awareness and ways to cope with difficulties.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has a right to happiness and should be treated with kindness and acceptance. Anyone is capable of change and growth, even though it can take a lot of courage to ask for help. As your therapist, I will be a listening ear and accept you regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, gender, sexual preference, or age.
