About My Clients
I work with adults who are feeling a loss of empowerment in life. I am passionate about working with those suffering from the effects of trauma, and specialize in recovery from domestic violence and sexual assault. My Background and Approach
I began working in the counseling field in 2016, and graduated with my Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2017. I have worked in a variety of settings including community mental health agencies, a domestic violence clinic, and a psychiatric hospital. In these positions, I have been able to work with clients of all different ages, races, identities, backgrounds, and diagnoses. I work from an integrated approach, holding central two things: you are the expert on your own life and story, and your past experiences inform who you are today. That's why I utilize a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens. I am passionate about helping adults who have felt powerless at one point or another, to find their sense of self again and feel confident in taking control of their life. I believe you. I also believe in your ability to do the hard work to heal from the wounds you carry.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to live a life in which they feel safe and empowered. I value authenticity and feel honored when someone trusts me enough to show me their vulnerabilities. Equality and inclusion are integral pieces of my values system. I am dedicated to learning about experiences of folks within communities I'm not part of so that I may continue to provide racially and culturally informed care.
