About My Clients
My clients come from different backgrounds, races, sexual and gender identities, and family backgrounds. Together we identify struggles and goals. Trauma, depression, anxiety, compulsions, relational turmoil, and infidelity are just a few issues which we might process together. I am trained in EMDR virtually and sex therapy while using a client and couple's focused approach. My clients struggle in/with relationships of all colors, shapes, and sizes. Others have a complex history of trauma.
My Background and Approach
I have a diverse background of working with people from 5 years old to 83, of all races, sexual orientations and gender identifications, family dynamics, and belief systems. I believe that until we have seen and understood where we come from, we cannot fully see where we are going. My graduate school is from Walla Walla University and I have received training in short-term solution focused therapy as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and CPT (Cognitive processing therapy) - both are trauma focused therapies. I am currently working towards full sex therapy certification. Working with me you will learn skills to manage your anxiety and depression and conflict within your relationships. We will focus on your biggest struggles and I will give you tools to manage these outside of sessions. You will gain skills and confidence to manage these difficulties so that you will be able to manage your mental health and your relationships can grow.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life is messy and fluid. Having a place where you can come to unlearn unhealthy behaviors and discover new parts of our identity helps us to transform into the people we want to become. My bachelor's is in Exercise Science and I have nutrition certification as well as a Level 1 CrossFit coach. For me, finding myself happened through my own therapy - both from a therapist and a coach! I realize this looks different for each person. I believe that finding a community and healthy habits will not cure mental health struggles, but having a community and healthy habits will help each person to be able to become their best self. It is my honor to be included on that journey to incorporate total wellness. My wife is perhaps one of the biggest Seahawks fans possible, but I rarely sit through one game a season - try not to hold that too harshly against me!
