About My Clients
I am passionate about working with deeply-feeling individuals and couples. I specialize in attachment-based trauma, which often looks like frequent invalidation in childhood or in significant relationships. As adults, this trauma can manifest as anxiety/perfectionism, self-worth concerns, and difficulty navigating life transitions. I also work with infertility, pregnancy, and parenthood- especially in relation to healing trauma and identity development.
My Background and Approach
My main focus in therapy is to hold a healing space for you to explore your personal experiences and goals. I view the therapeutic relationship as a major form of healing and growth- and am very present and connected to those I work with. From my perspective, attachment wounds have a significant impact on our identity development and mental health. Exploring attachment experiences as well as the concept of self-worth is often a major part of my work with clients. I enjoy working on healing these wounds in important transitions of life, especially in family related transitions. I have specific training in perinatal mental health and have personally experienced the highs and lows of infertility, pregnancy, and postpartum, which leaves me with a unique interest in working with others during those walks of life. My approaches in therapy are relational, dialectic, somatic, and based in acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Acceptance and compassion are the core values of my work. I view all humans as worthy and deserving of support. As a therapist and human- I am trauma-informed, LGBTQ-affirming, supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, sex-positive, and body-positive. I often question the "norms" as well as limiting biases and expectations of society, and support my clients in this work and experience as well. My modern approach to therapy gives a lot of space to the client in the virtual "therapy room", as you are the expert of your life, not me. I view my role as a therapist as a grounded human to help you hold space for your process and support you with tools to better connect to your personal goals.
