About My Clients
I work with professionals who sometimes know what they want but don't know how to get there. They are usually confident and successful at work but can't bridge the gap toward feeling the same way at home. I help them sort through who they are supposed to be and figure who they are, who they want to be. My clients are smart and determined and willing to try new things in order to find that sense of ease when it comes to who they are and how they show up in their personal relationships.
My Background and Approach
I consider myself to be a recovering people pleaser and perfectionist. If you're here, you can probably relate to those identities and are seeking help to get past the urge to continue acting in that way. The thing is, those behaviors have helped you get to where you are now, so it's not like they are all negative. They have stopped serving you though, and you know that you are meant for more in your life- more joy, more fulfillment, more satisfaction. You want something better for yourself and you know you can have it, you just need help with the "how." I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Existential philosophy to empower you to not only know exactly what you want, but to get it. We will work within your value system that YOU decide on, not anybody else, and we will create a life that feels authentic to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a straight, white woman, I recognize that I come from a place of privilege in the world. That is why I am continuously educating myself to do better and to be better. I will be an ally for you and I will openly listen to your experience, knowing that you are the expert of your own life. I don't think that we have to live the life we've been told that we do. The American Dream doesn't exist anymore and we are in a place where we get to decide what our own dreams are, what success looks like and feels like from the inside instead of being told what we need to achieve to get there. Outside of my role as therapist, I am also a yoga teacher, follow a vegan diet, outfit repeater and slow fashion lover, sustainability novice (basically a hippie at heart). I enjoy travel, trying new foods, reading, and live music. My most recent binge worthy shows are Yellowstone, Ozark and And Just Like That (so cringe but I can't stop). I hope to speak with you soon!
