I am certified in EMDR and think that non-verbal ways of processing trauma can be really effective. I have seen clients have tremendous success with EMDR. It helps them to re-process memories (not forget) in order to lessen the acute nature of them.

Depression comes from not having a voice and not feeling heard. In treatment at Shine you will have a say in what you want to work on and how you want your treatment to grow and develop in order to meet your goals.

Anxiety can take over our lives and there is so much of it. The treatment at Shine will be to get to the core of the anxiety in order to better under its origin and patterns to set you on the right path of healing.

I am also a Life Coach which goes along side with therapy to assist clients and creating goals and looking at their results. I feel that is is important for clients to see the changes and growth they have made throughout their time in treatment.

The root of so much of our pain as individuals is our brain's connection to past memories and the meaning we associate with those memories. Through this approach I will help clients to undertone their personal narrative and how it plays out into their everyday life and choices.

EMDR is a scientifically way to help you process trauma though eye movements and other forms of distraction that will assist the client to process memories so they are less acute and painful. Through this amazing process clients are able to identify feelings and memories that may not arise in a standard talk therapy session.
