About My Clients
Have you been through a significant life change that’s left you feeling stuck, anxious, or depressed? Maybe you even found yourself falling back into old bad habits; one’s you thought you’d long since overcome. Not so long ago, you were happy and strong, and I want to help you get that back- and never lose it again. I believe we must heal from the source of our pain in order to make lasting healthy changes in our lives today.
My Background and Approach
My foundational background to therapy is based on the cognitive behavioral model, which is simple: change your thinking and behaviors to change your life. Except, it's actually not that simple for a lot of us. I integrate a variety of theoretical approaches , which we will collaboratively modify based on your needs. I gravitate towards person-centered, psychodynamic, and gestalt theoretical orientations. This means that I will meet you wherever you're at in this journey called "life", help you to become more present in your life and your body, and provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space so that you may tell your story and heal. I care about you and I want you to feel better, and to get the life you've always wanted- the one you deserve.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all born with infinite abilities, and despite life's challenges, that never really goes away. I believe that virtually all mental health issues can be traced back to unhealthy childhood attachments and traumatic experiences. However, we tend to forget that we are not our symptoms; we are human beings worthy of love and compassion. When we forget about that, we often feel lost, and we just need a hand to hold while we find our way back. The great thing about getting lost though, is that when we do find our way back, we're almost always a "better" (happier, stronger, etc.) version of ourselves.
