About My Clients
I have found enjoyment in working with people navigating changes that intersect with a multitude of cultural and environmental factors. Together, I aim to foster a collaborative space where we can explore and reflect on how different cultural contexts can inform and impact clients' perspectives and experiences. I welcome clients who are open and willing to navigate their concerns as they examine their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
My Background and Approach
I am inspired by understanding how various cultural contexts (e.g., race, sexuality, gender, class, physical ability, religion) can impact individuals, relationships, and family dynamics. Through an intersectional cultural lens, I aim to help clients reflect on their primary concerns, values, thought processes, and behaviors. In doing so, I hope to cultivate a space that feels healing and fulfilling. I aim to keep therapy empirically informed, culturally aware, and social justice oriented. I hope to create a space that curates therapy to your strengths and feedback while providing you with the skills and tools to better face the challenges you face.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer mixed-race Asian-American who received my undergraduate psychology degree abroad at the University of Edinburgh and my master's degree from The Family Institute at Northwestern University. From living in a multitude of different cultural environments, I have seen how conscious and unconscious values, beliefs, and behaviors can greatly impact the perception and resolution of problems. I am most fulfilled by working with individuals, relationships, and families to open dialogues to unburden some of these internal and external challenges.
