We tend to get into trouble when we are thinking about what has happened to us in the past or what is about to happen in the future. Bringing our thoughts into the here and now can provide some relief as well as perspective on what needs to be done for yourself in order to feel well. I have several years of experience facilitating groups and individual sessions focused on using DBT skills to help create a life worth living.
Our thoughts affect our emotions, which then affect how we show up in the world. If we can shift our thinking about our present experience, then we may be able to shift to helpful ways of viewing what we are going through. I have experience assisting clients in shifting their thinking from harmful to helpful, and using these skills to view their circumstance differently.
