Life is hard! Whoever told us it gets easier when we get old didn't realize that it would be the dream we would want but have not been able to yet. Does life have its ups and downs? Does it feel like when you are down and depressed, you continually get slapped with more and more negativity? Yes, but it doesn't mean we have to let it be hard or feel like you are stuck in the cycle. The change starts with you! I can be here to help guide you you and stop to explore those changes along the way.
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about making sure each individual finds their way to living their best life. I am licensed in both Wyoming and Colorado, have been in the field for the past 15 years. I draw from a variety of modalities to empower the individual to understand what the concerns surrounding them mean and how they have the power to succeed. I like to explain myself as a your new tour guide to your mind. We will talk, look, and identify areas that are a concern or an area that is a positive place for you. As your tour guide, we will explore together what makes the situation or place heavy for you, work through it, and then move on to the next site you find in your mind. I will challenge you, but I ask you to offer me not just the negative, but the positive in life as well so we can build that LIVE part of you that is there.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that no matter how old you are, life can hit us at the worst of times, but it doesn't mean we can't overcome it. I believe that all of us can learn to make the connection between our feelings and the situations that surround us to find a more comfortable feeling. Growing up, I realized some of the behaviors and feelings I had were learned as part of my family dynamic and make it feel like it was okay to do certain things, when it wasn't as I grew older. I believe that as we grow, we aren't taught how to deal with the bigger things that come in adulthood, but we still can learn how to make better habits both in our behavior and thinking. To me, therapy is like the how to be the human you want to be guide as you grow up and deal with things you never thought you had to deal with.
