About My Clients
Many of my clients are in transition. Those transitions can be related to life change (becoming a parent, children leaving home, separation from a partner, start of new job etc) or those transitions can be internal (tired of feeling used, wanting to feel more confident, recognizing the impact of past or recent traumatic events, etc) . While each clients experience is unique and complex; they all share a desire for a more positive and fulfilled future and a readiness for change.
My Background and Approach
Centered Self Care is a teletherapy practice that focuses on the power of compassion and awareness in learning to thrive. We are all inherently worthy. At different times and for different reasons we need support in connecting (or reconnecting) with our sense of worthiness. Centered Self Care focuses on combining that sense of worthiness with learning practical skills and habits to empower people to thrive. It is important to address the variety of facets of life that impact a lived experience. Gender, gender identify, ethnicity, racial identity, age, access to services, religious upbringing, sexual orientation, and other significant factors of how we understand who are (or aren't) walk in every space we occupy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that intersectionality is a key and fundamental piece of a helpful and positive therapeutic experience. We are all multifaceted and complex. Those different pieces of our identity deserve space to breathe. I focusing on providing care that acknowledges all of the different intersecting identities we carry everywhere we go. When we invest in understanding ourselves and our own complexity, we also give permission to others to be curious and more authentic. That kind of investment and investigation doesn't just change one life, it changes generations. I believe that therapy can be a safe space to untie yourself from what you know so that you can learn what can be. That process can be beautiful and challenging. I think it amazing to know that there sincerely is the possibility for more.
